Presenting the new Joselito Premium collection by Etsuro Sotoo

The Japan’s Ambassador Residence in Madrid has been the chosen venue to present Joselito Premium 2014 new collection, which, as usual, counts with the creative approach of a great worldwide art, design or fashion figure. In this edition, the Japanese sculptor Etsuro Sotoo, who is the current Chief Sculptor of Sagrada Familia, has been on charge of designing a luxurious chest for a gastronomic jewel such as Joselito Vintage ham, which has a curing period of over 94 months. Joselito Premium collection 2014 by Etsuro Sotoo is a numbered and limited edition of 55 units. It will be available in a selection of the most exclusive selling points that Joselito has on 55 countries in the world.

This collection forms part of the celebration events of Spain-Japan Dual Year, which commemorates the 400 years since the exchange relationships started between both countries. Etsuro Sotoo, who was born in Fukuoka in 1953, has been chosen by Joselito as a symbol of this mutual connection and fascination, which is depicted through art. Sotoo has created for Joselito an amazing chest that has been individually hand-crafted in Japan with the ancestral technique of urushi:  it is a millennial Japanese etching and printing technique on lacquered wood. A team of Japanese expert artisans have been working during several weeks on each piece while following the ancient traditional lacquer techniques.

The sculptor Etsuro Sotoo takes over the work of other creators such as the architect Rafael Moneo or the designer Andrés Sardá, who also used their brilliance to create former editions of Joselito Premium collections. Collections that will undoubtedly have become works of art , with its exquisite and elegant designs. These designs have stored inside another gem : A Joselito Iberico ham .
